Fishing Reports
The trout season is well underway and good fishing is at hand. The two plump rainbows were taken at Sluice Pond in Lynn last Friday...in the middle of the day fishing brown whooly buggers deep near the bottom (20-25' of water). Sluice pond is the site of the Lynn Fish and Game season long tournament beginning this coming weekend....the state is stocking a few hundred super sized trout and some salmon for the event. The pond has very little public access and best fished from a small boat. A very nice launching ramp is available at the northwest end of the pond, just off RT129.

I fully expect to see the beginnings of the shad run anytime now. The Merrimack River water is approaching 55 degrees and that should signal the run to start. Look for shad at Rocks Village in W. Newbury...I'll be checking it out early next week.
