| It doesn't get any worse than this......The Plum Island Plague is in place.....no fish! Even the blues have moved out. Where are the stripers? There is lots of bait at the mouth, up inside on the flats, and along the beach front. I saw tons of birds on Wednesday working over a huge bait ball on the Joppa....unfortunately I was not out there in my boat so I can't be certain one way or the other that the bait was being pushed by stripers. According to Kay at Surfland, none of the regular boat guys have been fishing inside so maybe that is where the stripers are feeding....you don't know if you don't go.
Cape Ann Report
It seems that the Plum Island Plague has moved south as the quality striper action of the past two weeks has slowed to just a few schoolies and even fewer keeper sized bass this past week. The mid week cold front and big wind made fishing rather tough for boat and shore anglers alike for a day or so. We have improving weather forecast into weekend and hopefully the striper action will get going again.
Porter B. with the best of the week.
